Being a mom is definitely no easy task. Whether you are a stay-at-home mom or a working mom, both have their own pros and cons. For today's topic, we are focusing on self-care ideas for busy working moms out there. If you are your own girl boss building your empire or working a 9-to-5 job,  it may be hard to squeeze in time to take care of yourself especially if you don't have help at home.

From my own personal experience, I am a full-time working mom in a 9-to-5 job who is trying to balance a side hustle girl boss business on the side, packs my toddlers lunchbox, sends my toddler to daycare during the entire day, picks him up from daycare/pre-school and focus on him the entire night until his bedtime because I have no help (maid, nanny, caregiver) at home. So yes, I have my days where I feel burnt out but I love my career, I want to build a successful side hustle but at the same time I love my child and being a mom as well. But how do I keep myself from going insane? If you are a working mom like I am or even a stay-at-home mom going through a different motherhood journey, we are all almost alike because mothers have it tough. Read on down below on some of the realistic self-care ideas for busy working moms that I often apply myself.

1. Take a nap

I mean, sleep deprivation is any mother's middle name. So whenever you have the chance to take a nap, TAKE IT! Sometimes when the baby sleeps, you sleep too! Or if you have an extra 30 minutes in your day, instead of scrolling through Instagram, you should squeeze in your nap. Why? Because when you wake up from a nap, you will feel more refreshed, energized and can think more clearly. Listen to your body.

2. Crank up the tunes

Your party or clubbing days may be over once you become a mom but do not fret as you can have your own club- in your minivan or car! Crank the tunes up on the way back from work. Take it as your alone time before picking your kids up from daycare or school. Sing your heart out and enjoy your favourite tunes. This will make you feel like yourself again. We know that as moms it is hard to listen to anything other than the Paw Patrol theme song.

3. Watch your shows

Okay, this can be done. Hint: when the kids are on a nap, when they have fallen asleep or when they are focused on watching their own show.  It can be hard. Even my toddler hogs Netflix whenever I am at home but you can catch up with your shows by watching it on your phone. Catching up on at least an hour of your show is enough while your child is occupied with other things.

4. Eat your favourite food

No matter what kind of diet you are own, once in a while, eat your favourite food. Be it junk food, sweets or any cravings you have in mind. Enjoy every bite and appreciate the blessings you have in life. Food always make anyone feel in a better mood.
